A Travellerspoint blog

Hi, my name is Rosa, I'm 17 years old and I want to share my whole experience living in Canada, now I'm talking about few events with new people.

Two weeks ago we had an orientation in Truro, after school all the international students from Chignecto Central Regional School Board (CCRSB) went to a hotel for a night, we had dinner to make friends from all over the world, after that we were divided into three groups to go with our homestay coordinator, we talked about the rules, every act has a consequence. We met Lisa, she is our legal guardian. After that we had a dance to had a good time with new people that will become important friends.

I was so happy to see Monica and the girls again.

The dance was funny, everybody was so friendly, meeting people from all over the world is exciting, is awesome how we all talk so easy with everyone even when we don’t now each other. My roommate was from Mexico, we are so different but it wasn’t a problem to become friends, even when you’re meeting people from all over the world, its always awesome to find someone from your country, Monse if you’re reading this, we are going to see each other soon, you’re such an awesome girl, enjoy your time in Nova Scotia.

Monse and I

It was a slow song; we really have to do it.

The next day we went to the wildlife park, it was awesome, all the animals there are so pretty and I like the purpose of the park, they find animals that need someone that care because they have something wrong, then when they are totally healthy they let them go into the wild. There are two beautiful eagles that unfortunately can’t go back to the wild because they have permanent damage. My favourite animals in the park were the bears and the tigers, even though they are thinking it is supper time when they see us, they are so pretty that I forgive them.

With Lotti at the wildlife park, she is from Germany.

After the wildlife park we went to Douglas Street Rec Centre to eat lunch, play games and say goodbye to all our new friends. We did different types of games, games that you have to remember, games that you have to run, games that you have to think, games that you have to work with a partner, it was awesome.

This was my favorite game, and we were the fastest. We press the risk of the one that is at your right or left and we need to end the circle in seconds, we did it faster than the team that played before, so we were the fastest.

All the international students from Chignecto Central regional school board.

Last week at SCA the girls from the leadership class made an assembly to welcome all the international students. They introduced us to the whole school and the purpose of that was be sure that we feel part of SCA.

One week before they were making a slideshow with the things we like, it was kind.
